Buying in quantity
The numbers a wholesale buyer opens the page to read: the minimum, where the price steps, how payment runs, how long it takes, how it is packed, and what it costs to keep spares on the shelf.
The terms
| Item | Term | What it means in practice |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum order | Two units | Two units is the minimum we will quote — two of one identifier, or two across a category. It is not a pallet quantity, and it is not a sample policy dressed up as one. |
| Quantity breaks | 20 · 50 · 100 units | The per-unit price steps at 20, 50 and 100 units. The percentages below are indicative: what they are a percentage of moves with the band build, the energy item and what is bundled, so the proforma invoice carries the figure that applies to your order. |
| Payment | T/T | Bank transfer. The split is stated on the proforma invoice for your order rather than fixed here, because it moves with whether the goods are in stock or built to order. |
| Lead time | Stock 3 days · built to order 12–20 days | Stock lines dispatch in about three days. Built-to-order identifiers take twelve to twenty days, counted from payment rather than from the enquiry — a band build is settled before the unit exists. |
| Spares | 2 per 100 | Two spare units per hundred. They are quoted as a line on the invoice, not bundled silently, so you can see what the allowance costs and decline it. |
| Packing | 10 units per carton | Ten units to a carton. Carton dimensions and gross weight are confirmed on the packing list for the actual configuration, because a unit with a charger and a spare battery is not the same parcel as a bare one. |
| Programming | Loaded before dispatch | Radios can be programmed to your channel plan before dispatch. Send the plan with the order — a channel list, the frequencies and the talk groups — and it is loaded before packing. Radios shipped unprogrammed arrive on the factory default and have to be set up on arrival. |
Where the price steps
| From | Indicative step | How it is applied |
|---|---|---|
| 20 units | — | The first step. The rate is confirmed on the quotation rather than published as a number. |
| 50 units | 3% | Indicative. Applied to the configuration you order and confirmed on the proforma invoice. |
| 100 units | 5% | Indicative. Applied to the configuration you order and confirmed on the proforma invoice. |
Indicative means what to expect, not what is owed. Every percentage on this page is taken against a base that moves with the band split and the energy item, so the proforma invoice carries the figure for your order and that figure is the one that counts.
How an order runs
In this order, because each step decides something the next one depends on. The step that most often changes a price — confirming the band build — happens before the quote, not after the order.
Enquiry
Identifier, band, quantity and the country the goods are delivered to.
The six fields on the enquiry form are exactly this. Nothing else is needed to quote.
Specification confirmed
The band build and the energy item are confirmed against what your licence allows.
This is the step that most often changes a price after the fact, which is why it comes before the quote and not after the order.
Quotation and proforma
Unit price at your quantity, freight, delivery term and the payment split.
DDP and DAP differ by duty and clearance, not by freight alone — say which one you need.
Payment
T/T against the proforma invoice.
The clock on lead time starts here.
Build or pick
Stock is picked and tested; built-to-order units are configured and programmed.
Request programming at this stage, not after dispatch.
Dispatch and documents
Packed ten to a carton, with the commercial invoice and packing list.
The packing list states what is in each carton, so a shortage can be identified without opening every box.
What moves a price
There is no list price on this site, and that is deliberate: the same identifier costs different money depending on how it is built. These are the lines that move it.
Band build. The band and sub-band decide what the unit can do on your licence, and they are settled when the unit is built.
Energy item. Capacity, and whether a charger is in the box, changes the unit price more than most buyers expect.
Accessories. Antenna, earpiece, carry system and programming cable are often bundled by one supplier and itemised by another.
Quantity. The per-unit price moves at quantity breaks, so a ten-unit quote and a fifty-unit quote are not comparable per unit.
Delivery term. DDP and DAP differ by duty and clearance, not by freight alone.
Warranty term. The term and who honours it belong on the quote, not in a footnote.
How to read a quantity quote
Two quotes for fifty units are rarely the same offer. Before comparing the number at the bottom, compare these five, because each one moves it further than a discount step does.
Which build the price is for
Band split and energy item set the base before any quantity step applies. A quote that does not name the band is not a quote for your licence.
Where the spares sit
Two spares per hundred, inside the unit price or on their own line. Folded in, the unit price looks higher and the buyer cannot decline them; listed, the allowance is visible and optional.
Whether programming is included
Radios loaded to your channel plan before dispatch, or shipped on the factory default for you to set up. The second is cheaper per unit and costs a day of somebody's time on arrival.
The delivery term
DDP and DAP are not the same number with different labels: one carries duty and clearance, the other leaves them to you. Compare quotes on the term that matches who is clearing the goods.
Whether it is stock or a build
Stock moves in about three days and a built unit takes twelve to twenty. A shorter lead time at a lower price is usually one of the two being described loosely rather than a better deal.
If you do not yet know what to order
Plenty of buyers arrive with a site and no equipment list. Send the description and a schedule comes back — how many portables, how many mobiles, how many repeaters, and what goes with each. How the system plan works.
Start a quote
Six fields: identifier, band, quantity, delivery country, name and contact. That is enough to quote, and enough to work out the freight.
